tranny slip in all gears

i think my 700r4 is going. i can get fairly good acceleration but if i down shift or floor it the rpms go through the roof. i was going 45 shifted into second and floored the gas and only thing that happens it the rpms go up and then the car slowly catches up with the rpms. when the car is left in OD when it shift it dont shift hard, only thing is the rpms go up a little then come back down. i know that my tv cable is set correct and im only pushing a 220 @.5 durration cam so its not that much power. i dont know if i need to rebuild my transmission or something else it wrong with it. it doesnt have any mods just stock tranny off an 87 camaro 305. any help would be great. thanks.

Pull the dipstick out, look and smell of the fluid. If its a brownish color and smells burnt the tranny is toast.
