who sells the best T5 rebuild kit?
my T5 is starting to act up again only 1 year after i had it "PROFESSIONALLY" rebuilt
so, me and another mechanic are going to stay late at work one night and overhaul it again....................
who sells the best kit and is there a difference between the V8 and V6 kits?

They're all the same. There's only one source for most of the parts in them (Timken front CG bearing, B-W synchros, etc.). People just acquire all the pieces and package them. The only difference is whether it's the 1st design or the 2nd design aka "World Class" (I gag whenever I say that, it's about the dumbest name that could be given to a trans).
www.gearzone.net and www.5speeds.com are 2 places to get kits from.
What are the symptoms you are rebuilding it for? A rebuild may or may not fix it, depending on what it's doing.

so i'll need new synchro's, thats a given, should a rbeuild kit handle the rest?
I did mine years ago, when i lost third gear. There is a some sort of parts kit that includes all the bearings, shims, bushings, syncros etc. the normal wear parts. once its apart though you should inspect the gears 5 forward if i remember correctly. and the Countershaft, its the most expensive part. its a sold shaft with the 5 mating gears machined in one piece. Third gear is the weakest point, and if thats damadged then the CS is probably too. I used the factory service manual when i did mine. its a must have for torque specs and preload . Aldo you will need a dial indicator/base. And a parts washer and large clean workbench too

A standard "rebuild" will not fix that. a "kit" comes with all the soft parts such as bearings and snap rings; some come with the blocker rings; but the sleeves are supposed to be re-used. You'll have to buy them separately, and trans parts aren't cheap.
Popping out of gear is casued by the splines inside the synchro "sleeve" being worn tapered. It's usually caused by habitually letting the clutch out before the trans is all the way in gear. They're not cut straight when new, they're tapered so they pull the trans into gear and hold it there; if you load the trans during shifting as I described, they wear as the sleeves slide with full engine torque on them, and get tapered the opposite way, such that they try to push the trans out of gear rather than pulling it in.
Grinding into 3rd and 4th is another sleeve problem, sounds like there's broken keys in that one.
It generally sounds to me like that trans has been beat on pretty hard by someone who didn't know how to handle a stick shift very well. you might want to find another core to rebuild, that one may have lots of other things worn out about it that you don't know about yet, but will bite you in the rear over time. you may also find that you can get a whole junk core cheaper than you can buy all the pieces that one is already known to need.
