Is there an aftermarket shifter for a T10?????
Just wondering about an aftermarket for my T10. Just got the car back in May and there's alot of play in the shifter. Tried adjusting it, but nothing.

Yes, go to:

and look for Competition Plus 4 speed shifters. I had one in my 78 T/A and it was as smooth as a baby's bottom!! Excellent feel, and control over shifting.
Hope this helps.

All T10s are left and up for reverse. If it's anywhere else, it's not a T10, it's a Saginaw.
You can tell by looking at the side of the trans... if there are 2 shifter shafts in the case and one in the extension housing, it's a T10; but if all 3 go into the case, it's a Saginaw. Also, the T10 case is aluminum, but the Saginaw case is cast iron. Both have aluminum extension housings and iron side covers.
Don't get a Mr Gasket shifter, they are a disgusting POS. Get a Hurst. Comp Plus is a Hurst product line and is what you want. IIRC Mr G bought Hurst which confuses the issue somewhat, but there are still 2 distinct product lines; make sure you get the Hurst.

I was under the impression that all 4-cyl Camaros came with a T-10. Will check today! Say it is a Saginaw, is there still a shifter for it?

Update: Just check and it appears that all three go into the housing. One on the side of the tranny and the other two almost on top of it.
