difference between dana 44 and 9 bolt?
The guys at moser need me to actually measure my axle unless I am really sure what I have because they have the stock measurements.
They say camaro came with 9 bolt and also dana 44. I am sure I have the borg warner 7.75" ring gear axle with 2.77 because it's casted into the diff housing.
I just wanted to make sure what I have because I don't want to pull out the axle again. What's the difference between these too rear ends?
Thanks

Well, a B-w axle is made by B-W and has their name on it, and the Dana is made by Dana and has their name on it.
So, if you have a rear with B-W on it, the odds are pretty good it's a B-W. Good enough in fact to order stuff on that basis (unlike GM's production-line "codes"). I'd tell them you're sure, and go ahead and send your stuff.

Look at the back cover..
10 bolt 7.5/7.625" has a smooth cover and 10 bolts holding it on.
9 bolt 7.75" has a rubber plug in the cover and has 9 bolts holding it on.
Dana 44 8.5" (very rare) has a metal plug in the cover and has 10 bolts holding it on.
