what fluid to use in my new trans

I was wondering what fluid i supposed to be running in my new Pro-Built 700r4?

I used to three 2 liter bottle of fluid that Dana had sent with the trans but it doesnt seem to be enough (i figured about 6 qts in the bottles that were shipped, that leaves me with 5 more quarts till i'm full. should i use mobil 1 ATF synthetic?

if anyone knows the answer here, feel free to chime in...i really want to try out my new trans and converter,

thanks larry

Dana might tell you something different, but I would say use regular DexronIII. I know that Pro-built builds his transmissions tough enough to not need special fluid.

Personally, when my Pro-built is installed in the next few weeks (been sitting on the garage shelf for 4 months now...sigh) it will have only the fluid from Pro-Built in it...

And the Mobil trans fluid that Dana recommends too...

Just my $.02..

From: I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.
I just put mine in the other day. I had to call him and ask the same question:sillylol:. I used Amsoil dex3, dont use any synthetic oil. I bougth the Moble1 too before he called back and said not to.It should take about 4 more quarts.
Make sure you let us know how it runs. So far I'm pretty pleased with mine :hail:

When I installed my Probuilt street/strip last month, Dana recommended that I use either Mobil or AC Delco and one other that I cant recall. I wanna say Valvoline? Not sure.. hopefully Dana will post a reply.

acording to dana and he can coorect me if i'm wrong you should use mobile NON synthetic trans fluid. this is straight from the masters mouth to my ear via phone conversation. mine was installed by me with the removal help of ATOmonkey.
i can not say enough about the trans but the guy in the 00 ss camaro sure said alot when third chirped and i pulled on him i believe his words were and i quote "is that a manual!" followed by my hysterical laugh and a big fat no :hail: pro-built:hail:

Well the trans is in and done, i ended up using mobil ATF (non synthetic), the trans to seem work fine, but i think i need to readjust my t.v. cable, when i hit the throttle hard the car takes off, run up in rpm, shifts into 2nd breifly, then down shifts, then shifts back into 2nd.

Sound like a mis-adjusted t.v. cable to you guys?

I send out 6 quarts of my Pro-Fluid with all my transmissions. I recommend Mobil dexron III, Aamco dexron III, or AC Delco dexron III in that order (all non-synthetics). So you will need an additional 5 to 6 quarts of the recommended oil to mix with mine.

maniacc, if you are having any problems call me?
