bouncing shifter on WC T5

Has anyone experienced their shifter on their T5 moving up during hard acceleration. I recently replaced my 305 with a 350 and replaced the trans mount in the process. Now that it is broken in and I have started pushing it a little harder when under WOT the shifter comes up and then settles down. I don't remember this happening before. Could the new mount be allowing this much more up and down movement? Is that normal?

Yes, it's perfectly normal. That's because it's perfectly normal for the stock mounts for these cars to break. I could put a new one in my car, back down the driveway, and rip it in half the very first time I took off. When that happened, I decided it was time for a change.

The mere fact that you recently changed it, doesn't mean that it's not already broken.

Like the other post said, get rid of the stock "blob of spooge" design feature, and get an Energy Suspension urethane one.
