When i go to put my 86 trans am into drive the car surges forward. (the tire dont move but the whole frame bumps around like i was just tapped by another car) Is this an engine or tranny mount or something else?

its pretty normal, just engaging the transmission into the forward gears, my car did it, as a matter of fact occasionally if it wasn't all the way off high idle it would chirp the tires

the cam in my car, was actually just a clevite 77 piece, (i never knew they made cams), it was put in by the shop that rebuilt the engine, it is a regular hydrualic flat tappet cam, it is large enough that it starts messing with the power assist on the brakes, it has what i would call a moderate lope, it will load up if idling for a long time, but not enough to kill the engine, just enough to make it bog the first time you hit the gas(i'm talking like 10+minutes idling) it really brings on the power about 2200 rpm then pulls like mad till 5000, or so, you can tell it wants to go alot farther but the stock heads and valve springs are holding me back i think, i had it just over 6k once but that was in nuetral, when the throttle stuck

basically overall i like it, but to get the most out of it you need a about a 2400 stall, or a manual trans which is what i am doing now, a t5
