i was thinking about putting the trans go shift kit in my 85 trans am...when you get a shift kit can it just be built into the tranny or does the tranny have to be rebuilt with it?...also i was wondering about new gears in the rear...can they just be put in or does it need the rear do be rebuilt, thanks a lot

 

the shift kit just modifies the valve body of the trans...no rebuilding is necessary.

 

well put curt. Same with the gears. You can replace the gears and use the same carrier and axles.
