Convertor Question
How can I tell when the convertor is seated properly inside the transmission. I thought once installed correctly the tailshaft will spin at the back of the transmission?
Thanks
Thanks
Nope, not at all. First of all, if the tranny is out of the car, then obviously, none of the clutches are applied, so the output shaft won't turn.
Second, its not the input shaft that people don't usually get engaged, its the pump rotor. If you lay a board across teh bellhousing, there should be like 2" between teh board and the TC (I don't remember right off hand the exact measurement). Or you can try and fit your finger between the TC and the pump (front of the tranny) If you have a fat finger like mine, it might not fit.
