installing shift kit
installing shift kit
i am going to have a shift kit installed in my 92 camaro rs.
but before its done i have a few questions
1.) my car has 78,000 miles on it. in the long run will it hurt my trans?
2.) before winter comes also there will also be posi and gears installed, will it help alot with the new gears?
3.)what are the bennifts with putting the shift kit in?
kinda off the topic, what does a stall converter do?
thanks for any help

If the clutches are holding in EACH gear and no obvious problem then the TransGo Shift Kit will prolong the life of the Tranny and improve it's (and the cars) performance. Unless you are making power, the 700 Jr. SK will be fine. Otherwise the TransGo Reprogramming Kit will do. A "Stall" converter is one that has a higher stall rating than stock. The idea behind stall selection is to get the engine to the beginning of the powerband. Going too high wastes power, especially with a TPI that flattens out at@5000 RPM.
