installed a shift kit......bad idea!....help?
i installed a shift kit in my 84 700R4
i did eveything it said(btw i did the street kit) and i ended up with 2 extra checkballs in the end......and now my tranny is all wierd......i have to rev it up to 2500rpm's in reverse b4 it will even start to budge.....and if i try to manually shift through the gears when i shift it just revs up really high and feels like a put it in neutral and i have to let off the gas b4 it will catch again and shift.........anyone know what could b wrong with this tranny?

which shift kit did you install? I don't think you should have that many spare checkballs, when I did my trans-go kit I only had 1 left out...
I had a few extra check ***** to, the guy at the trans shop told me the trans only needs 2 or 3 in the proper place to function correctly.
could be you didnt seat the pressure regulator properly, put the check ***** in the right spots, or you could have some stuck valves.
I had all these problems after I did mine!
what happens when you put it into gear and hit the gas? does it move at all? or does it have to rev up and then does it barely move? if it does that, then check the pressure regulator, thats what mine did and that was the problem.
if it doesent shift until high rpm, then you may have gotten some dirt in the valve body, which stuck the valves.
