Should I do anything to my Tranny??

Hey guys, I just ordered a new 350ci motor with 430hp. Next year I will be installing an ATI supercharger for some much needed boost. I have a question about my tranny though. See I know nothing about trannys. My question is this: What should I do to my tranny to make it accept that much hp? I have (as of now) a stock 1992 Camaro RS with an automatic.

Will the stock tranny be able to handle that amount of power?

If so, what should I do to make it shift harder to compete with those dudes on the road with a stick?

If the stock tranny wont be able to handle it, what should I do to the tranny so that it can (keeping in mind that I'm adding a supercharger later on down the road)? Should I just invest in a new tranny? If so, which one would be best?

As you can tell my technical knowledge is zero to none so I rely heavely on what I learn here and I have to trust those I choose to install my parts.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not gonna be able to be much help to you but I can tell you that the stock tranny will not hold up to that much power. I don't know if you can send it to a tranny shop to have stronger internals that can handle the power, or if you should get another tranny altogether. I also think when you buy a torque converter, you're gonna have to get one with anti-balloon plates. Not sure what they are, but I'm pretty sure you need them to either run boost or nitrous. Good luck and that engine's gonna kick a$$

since you have all this money, you could switch over to a t56 of TKO manual, or get 2 really well built 700's and just swap them ouit as they break. By the 3rd or 4th time it gets easier!!!

I have to get something that will last. I've been stashing away all the money I can for four years so I could do this. Sacrifised a lot, saved a lot, lived on VERY little so I want to make sure things are done correct. Its been my biggest dream to have a Camaro that can burn most things one the road and I really hate having broken dreams.

Thanks for the advise.

I have the TKO, bought it for the same reason, reliability. Since i've installed it it has worked great, the only complaint i have is that i think the t56 has a tighter gear spread, and that may work slightly better in a street driven car, other than that i'll take the stronger unit!
