VSS in a 350 Turbo trany?

Hey, the guy that had this car before me decided to put a 350 Turbo trany in it. I was just wondering if this trany has a VSS cause im getting the VSS code and i went to look for it. Another post said its on the driver side, at the back of the transmission, round with 1 screw holding it in. I went to look for it, but i cant find anything like that. If it does have one, where is it?! if not, does that effect my engine performance?
thanks

That's your problem. On your car the VSS is a little yellow box on the back of the speedometer and is driven by the speedometer cable. Fix the cable and you won't get a VSS error.
