Trouble with 2-4 servo cover

I've got a Trans go kit in my 700R4 and have done all the work inside the pan. I simply cannot get the 2-4 servo cover to budge in order to install the Vette servo. I made a U-shaped brace, attached it to the case using 2 of the pan bolts and pryed against it with a breaker bar. Dang thing just won't compress so I can remove the retaining wire.

Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions for the next step?

Either you are just not applying enough force to budge the cover, or it really is moving, but you don't notice it. If the tranny is in the car, I just take my large prybar and stick the end of the bar up inside the trans tunnel and then push on the cover with the bar.

If you install the servo assembly EXACTLY like the TransGo instructions say, with the washers, your servo cover travel when done will only be around .060"-.070", which if you don't watch, will look like its not moving. You don't have to move the cover far to get the snap-ring out.

Thanks but it is definitely not moving at all. I tried the prybar on the tranny tunnel first and only the tunnel and whole tranny moved.
I pushed so hard on the cover with the bracket and breaker bar that I was afraid I was going to break out the casing at the two bolts or break the tit on the cover.

try to grab the cover by the center part with a pair of pliers and turn it a few times to loosen the o rings, then it will come right out.

I haven't tried twisting it yet. I've been hitting it with penetrant for the past several days. I'll give it a try though. Thanks for the reply.

Good news, I finally got the cover removed. I sprayed it for a week each day with penetrant. The retaining ring finally came out and I sprayed it some more. After some fairly gentle taps with the hammer, I finally saw some movement. Kept tapping and prying until the cover popped out. Whew!
