What gear ratio in a V6?

I've got a V6 Camaro that I was planning to restore/modify into an IROC clone and was curious as to what ratio was in the rear ends of the V6 cars.

Could it be the same deal as the V8 cars- Autos have 3.23 and sticks have 3.42? Mine is an auto. What would be the RPO for the gear ratio?

All the 3rdgen V6's Ive seen in the junkyards "around 30" Standard transmission cars got 3.42's and automatic cars got 3.23's. I have seen an V6 SE car with a 3.42 posi but I dont know if its factory.

My '86 5-speed Firebird was originally a V6 and came with 3.42s. This site will tell you what gears were available for the different years. It's a camaro page but I'm sure the F-body drivetrains were the same.

Anything that starts with the leter "G"

A G80 is positraction

A GU6 is the 3.42
