What seal is leaking?

My tranny started leaking and its getting worse and leaving a puddle now. It looks like it is leaking from were the tranny and engine meet by the fly wheel inspection cover or somewere in that area. I know its tranny flud becasue i keep having to add fluid to my car any ideas?

If this is a T-5, it's the front countergear bearing. If it's 86-back, you need another transmission, because the case is stretched between the clutch gear bearing bore and the countergear bearing bore. If it's 87-up, it may just need the O-ring on the countergear bearing; but you have to tear the trans all the way down to change it.

I have a similar problem as we speak...type My leak is under the front of the pan, so it thought. Turns out, it is leaking from the bottom two bolts in front of the tranny, behind the torque converter. I think it is the pump seal. the bolts are supposed to have a rubber o ring betweent the head of hte bolt and the mating surface. Mine have a washer and now i may have to pull the tranny to replace the friggin two o rings I put a small bead of black rtv around the bolt heads today, letting it dry and then bolting it back up later after it drys hoping for a quick fix? we will see! As for your prob, take off the inspection cover and let us know what you find! use a flashlight to look up there to search for leaks.

Good luck!
