700r4 trans upgrades ???

700r4 trans upgrades ???

ok guys ..... i see alot of questions in here about the 700r4 transmission, what i want to know is what i can do on a limited budget without doing a full rebuild on the trans..... and also i have noticed guys with this B4C upgrade and corvette servo's and transgo shift kits...any and all suggestions will help....i want to keep my car stock but add a few upgrades to it ......thanks alot...

You don't mention how many miles you have on the box, or what vintage you have. There are 3 versions of the 700 the latest being the best since it incorporates improvements. Most reputable transmission guy's won't get into shift kit's on high mileage units. The most popular kit and probably the best is the Transgo. It's almost universal in opinion among rebuilders. The vette servo is another. A lot has to do with your driving habits. If your intention is to chirp everytime you shift I would not recommend doing anything unless you do a rebuild. The 700 is not a particularly strong transmission in it's stock form. Holeshots and the like severly shorten it's life. IMHO, leave it alone until it's time for an overhaul then talk to leo or pro-built and get advice on what you need for your application.

Danno..........its a 92 firebird with under 54,000 miles on it, automatic with overdrive, its not a daily driver car like most guys have...hope this helps...

if it only has that many miles, then id throw a transgo kit and the vette servo right in there!
