Auto to Manual Tranny Swap
Auto to Manual Tranny Swap
Please guys, I need some tips...
I searched the boards for some info, but now I'm out of time and have to go to work. I found this list of parts while searching, though:
Pilot Bushing (N)
Flywheel (S)
Clutch Disc (N)
Pressure Plate (N)
Release Bearing (N)
Bellhousing W/Release fork from an F-body (S)
Transmission from an F-body (S)
Either Hydraulic or manual release mechanism (S)
Clutch/Brake pedal assembly, entire assy, not just pedals (S)
Shifter (S)
Lower shift boot (S)
Upper console swap with upper shift boot (The console is cut for the shifter throw) (S)
are these all the parts i need? And what do the S and Ns mean?
Now, I have found a junked camaro, 92 RS, which is what I have. Except that it is a manual. It seems like the tranny is pretty much intact, but the engine and the driveshaft are shot. Will this baby just drop right into my car? (or lift, as the case may be
)
Will I need a new computer chip or anything? Also, are there any parts on that list (if it is a complete list) that I should get new rather than take used? Or what parts on that list can I get new and aftermarket that would way outdo the used stock ones?
What I have, and the junked camaro have are 305 tbi engines. Figuring they are both 92 RS, I don't think there will be too many configuration problems. But I can be comletely wrong, hence the new thread.
Thanks guys for your help!

Alright, I found out where that list origniated from...its in the Technical Documents part of this website! Doh! It tells me 1-2-3 everything I need to know for swapping out the auto for the T5. Anyone who finds this thread by search or random browsing looking for tips on a manual swap, should look up that document.
