If you want a 700R4 that is done right and with a good warranty, then check me out at www.pro-built.net or give me a call at 800 7763288 M-S 10-6 PST. If I were you I would do some research on what customers say about their transmissions.

I have not heard anything bad about Pro-builts trannies.
I have not had personal experience w/ 700R-4s trannies either.
I did have to go into a crappy TCI tranny, and B&M, need I even say?????

i have 700r4's parts in my tranny. it held up for two years while i broke in the motor and i think i put about 100 lbs of juice through the motor and like 5-6 thousand miles, drag racing only. and somthing let loose. From what people tell me i may have been the 2-4 band. The car runs somewhere in the low 11.40's or faster.
So needless to say i'm very impressed with how long this lasted. i used all the goodies they offer clutches, pump upgrade, servos, full throttle upgrade and some others.
I had never looked inside a tranny before and rebuilt it myself. It was pretty easy. just had one of the local tranny shops we do business help me stack the clutches other than that i had only minor problems putting it back together. it was messy but fun. :lala:

Well, considering how knowledgable Pro Built is, and has been on this board for a while, and all seem to respect him, sounds like a safe bet. I havent checked pricing though.
I've used the "kevlar" band that they sell and was not impressed. The car I installed it in came back 6 months later with a hole punched in the band from the "super servo" they sell. I don't know if it was the servo, the band or both, but neither one I will use again. I now use a non-kevlar, 2-5/8" band, which has been re-inforced in all the right places, including where the hole got punched.
DO NOT use the "KEVLAR" band it does not hold up or does it have a good shift quality to it. Use the Borg Warner Hi-Energy band. I use this in all my builds (along with the, Corvette servo, large boost valves, accumulator modifications, etc.) and with no failures.
pro built, what are the hp ratings on ur trannys cause the engine i'm finishin up buildin should hopefully be around 500-550 hp and down the line in a yr or so i'm plannin on addin a supercharger

i have not dynoed the car yet but on the motor it runs 12.0's and with a 150 shot it runs 11.40's somewhere in that range car weights about 3600 give or take 100 lbs. but this is racing cars that run these #'s at the track i have not been to the track for fear of breaking many parts. but i hang with or beat cars that put out these times

Guys if you want a 700-R4 that will stay with you go with the Pro-Built. I went through a TCI and a B&M 700R4 before I found out about pro-built. I bought one of his tranny's put it in and have no had another single problem. Dana knows his **** about 700-R4's and his customer service can't be beat. He spends alot of time with each customer to make sure you are getting what you want. You can buy an off the shelf tranny from 700R4.com,TCI,or B&M but I assure you if your making any kind of power it want stay there. :hail: :hail: :hail: Pro-Built trannys
mess21 Go to my website www.pro-built.net and you will see what I put in them. The Street/Strip will handle about 550 HP and if you want it to take more HP, then add the HD input drum, this will make it good for about 625-650 HP. After this there is nothing realistically that will hold more HP and still live.

I've been here since -99 and have read only GOOD things about pro-built! The other companies I've read both good and bad things...Therefor in my eyes the only way to go is pro-built !
