Top speed in OD

I have read posts pertaining to this, that full throttle OD thing for 700R4., sometimes my trans will do it, sometimes not, sometimes it stays in D and I have to play with it to go to OD to achieve top speed, anybody else with this problem. What is the solution? Thanks.

for the 700r4 if you go anywhere over 1/2 throttle it was supposed to kick out of OD and go into 3rd. Its a safety feature because OD isnt that strong. So far in 1/2 throttle I've hit about 154mph in OD.

Transco makes a full throttle 3-4 shift valve. You have to take down the valve body and replace the valve. Its about 30 or 40 bucks to buy the part.
