how do i hook up my shifter cable?

Engine: L98
Transmission: 700R4/4L60 same trans different name
how do i hook up my shifter cable?
????
i have no cable brackets on the TH350
i guess i need to steal one off the 700-R4, huh?
then how i do hook the other end to the shifter
it looks like the cable should fit into place and stay but it doesnt because their is nothing to hold it
please help, i need to get the car running already

i was missing a few brackets so thats why i couldnt figure it out
