I have an 89 RS with a 3.08 posi rearend. I keep hearing about this SLP take off but I can't find it. Where did you guys find it and will I need different axles? I want to put 3.73 gears in but I need to upgrade the posi too right?

you don't need posi to have a 3:72 gear set. you need to count your splines, you may or may not need new axles. the slp is 28 spline. gm went from 26 to 28 spline in 90 with 89 being a transition year, so you could have either. try a web search for slp, i can't remember what it is and don't have it saved.

 

I know that I don't need posi but I intend to do quite a bit of dragracing along with the occasional auto-x afterr I get my 400hp vortec 350 in my car this summer.
