Got Trannies?

Well,i have a 85 camaro w/ a 2.8L MPFI V6 and a 4 speed transmision. What kind of trans is this?Im putting in a V8 and im planning on putting in a t350.I heard a short tail T350 may be the same length as the trans in my car.Is this true,if so,i wouldnt have to change my driveshaft would i?I did some searches but couldnt find a good thread. Some help would be greatly appreciated!Thanx

Transmission: 700R4/4L60 same trans different name
you currently have a 700R4, that in no way, shape, or form will fit a SBC

you'll need a LONG-TAIL th350 to retain your driveshaft

The TH350 with a 9" tailhousing is the same length as a 700-r4.

Apology accepted...your statement is true only for V8-equipped 3rd gens.
