700r4 - upshifting problems

Hey fellas, i seem to be having transmission problems. out of nowhere my car stopped shifting any higher than 2nd gear. What i am guessing is the TV cable (the cable underneath the throttle cable on the carb that traverses its way to the transmission??) has very much slack in it. It's like something stuck into posistion or something. If any of you guys have any suggestions on how to unstick it i would be grateful.

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

Check the cable at the throttle body where it attaches. DO NOT run it for any length of time on the road or you will FRY the trans. If the cable is OK at both ends unfortunately you may have a problem inside with the tv valve or its linkage which entails dropping the pan. Fixing it is a must or you will be buying an overhauled box.

You probably lost the 3-4 clutch pack (very common). What is the condition of the transmission fluid?
