Speedo corrections

Okay, im fixing to do an auto to t-5 swap while putting in 3.73 gears and i had a question. My car is a 91 RS and has the blasted electronic speedometer. Correct me if im wrong here but doesn't the electronic speedo get its signal from the VSS? If this is the case, what do i have to do to correct my speedometer for the gear swap? Isn't the VSS sensor essentially the gear being driven by the drive gear inside the tranny? I know in an older car, you have to change the drive/driven gears to correct for new gears. Does that mean that I have to change both the drive gear inside the tranny and change the VSS sensor? Thanks for helping to answer the questions a very confused board member.

I am also changing the gears in my 91 rs to 3.73 and i think that all you have to do is buy the speedo correction gears from slponline.com they should do the job.
