installing new gears...

I just bought new Eliminator 3.42's (since a few of my teeth are broken off my ring gear) and I was wondering what you guys recommend about the installation kit. I know there are kits in Summitt and Jegs but I have heard for quietness you should use genuine GM bearings. I called my dealer and he said they don't sell a complete kit, just everything seperately. I want the quietest rear end possible (mine has an extreme whine right now) so if I have to order everything seperately I will.
But would it be easier to order a Ratech kit or whatever and then order the important bearings from GM???
Should I just use all of the bearings out of the kit and forget about GM???
Have you guys had any success with kits like this???
Any help is appreciated.

That is a bunch of hooey. GM bearings are no different from anyone else's. Just get the Ratech kit and be done with it. I've used a certain number of them, they work just fine.

I'd be more concerned about noise from the gears.... who actually made them?

The gears in there now are GM but like I said the ring rear has 3 teeth broken off so maybe the pinion depth wasn't set correctly or something.

I bought the rear end used and I think the guy before me had aftermarket gears in it and then put the old gears back in it for some reason.

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it. I will try the Ratech kit out.

there's a real good chance the "real gm bearings" aren't made by gm. more likely timkin, if it were me i'd not put anything in it but timkin bearings.
