T-56 and Reverse Gear Lockout not working ?

I recently purchased a 92 B4C 1LE Camaro Z28 that had a T-56 put in it. 6 speed works great, except for the lack of reverse lock out. (I'm actually not used to this particular shifter, versus a Pro 5.0 shifter on another T-56 car)

On occassion, it goes from 4th and almost falls into reverse, the shift to 5th is so close to what 3rd feels to be, it is easy to "try" for 5th too much and grind reverse. On my LS1 6-speed, I've never grinded reverse, obviously because my reverse lockout was working, and it was impossible to go into reverse. (Above 5mph from what I've researched)

So my question, how do I troubleshoot this? Anyone know what voltage the reverse lockout needs ? Could it be "maladjusted" so that it isn't blocking reverse properly ?

My initial diagnostic thought would be: Take the wires and run them into the cockpit, so that I can control putting voltage on them, then going for a test drive and see if reverse lockout is or is not working...

Anyone have more experience with reverse lockout on a T-56 in a 3rd Gen?? THANKS for ANY help!

Why not just unplug the connector and see if it's harder to put in reverse? Maybe they have it wired to constant power.
