well most people just run the ol' cheap B&M or TCI converters.

Oh, people will say things like "that darn B&M converter F&^*&^%ed Up my Transmission!"

and "Darn B&M SUCKS DO NOT BUY B&M!!!"

and for the most part, those people are right.

But for a cheap 12" stock-type converter with about 2400 Stall, you cant beat B&M's price. even if you DO have rebuild you tranny every week....

now if you want a REALLY REALLY GOOD converter, then contact YANK or Precision industries, or ACT (whatever THAT stands for..)

but expect to pay ooodles of $$$$$ for it. and your still stuck with a cheap, crappy, no overdrive, Th350.

I recommend you get an ACT 9.5" lockup converter, and a Pro-built 700R4. yeah you'll pay $2100 + shipping but if you want a GOOD street combo, you gota shell out $$$$.

or spend $150 on a 12" B&M and call it a day. That what I did... to tide me over for a REAL tranny.

You get what you pay for. Just remember that. I'm a dealer for TCS, Torque Convertor Specialties. He's been a friend of mine longer than he's been doing my convertors. He makes an excellent performance TC. If you only want to go to 2500, he can "re-stall" a stock convertor to 2500. It's a lot cheaper that buying an all new one. The only problem is that it's just as heave as the stock one. If you want a smaller one, you can go with 11" or 9.5" which are lighter and make a big difference. I have a 9.5" 3000 stall in my car and it knocked .5 off my ET on a stock 305. Let me know if you're interested.

Depending on how much you want to spend, the A.C.T. 9.5" lockup can give you the best ET improvement (.4 - .6) at $565.00, with stalls from 2,400-3,200 rpm available. Or you can go with a reworked 12" at somewhat less in price, and somewhat less ET improvement. Call me if I can be of help? 800 7763288.
