need help with gear swap and speedo
HELP, I changed gears and threw off my speedo. I did a gear swap in my 90' RS which had 2.73's that I swapped with 3.42's. Its thrown my speedo off big time and I need to know how to fix it. I did a massive search of all sorts and never really got the answer. From what I gathered, all I have to do is find the right gears in the transmission right? Does this apply to 700R4 with an electric speedo? If so what gears do I need and where can I find them? Please Help!

Yes the 700r4 with the electronic speedo has plastic gears that need to be changed. You can get the right ones from www.700r4.com Also, if I were you, I would get one of the driven gear retaining clips for just a couple dollars incase you break the original like I did.

Swapping gears on a manual requires complete removal of the transmission in order to get to the drive gear. I took my time to learn and it took me 2 days. I could easily do it again in a few hours.
