where to get a take-off posi carrier

does any one know where I can get a take-off posi carrier for my 87 camaro. I am also looking to upgrade my 2.73 gears to 3.42 and what is involved in the swap.

Thanks

you can get the SLP take off posi for $100 ( www.slponline.com ), but youll have to upgrade your 26 spline axles to 28.

$225 for the pair of axles, but you can also trying searching ebay or the Classifieds to find axles off a 90-92 camaro or firebird.

And yes, you will need an installation kit, i used the Deluxe Ratech kit (RAT-3001K) at www.summitracing.com

vjo about covered it. I would add, you'll end up with a better job if you use a crush sleeve eliminator, see http://www.ratechmfg.com/gmsolidspacers.htm And here's a source for probably the best axles for this particular application, about the same price as Moser or other "custom" axle companies. http://www.footeaxle.com/Pages/production.html

I'm sure you know this, but I figured I'd say it so that people don't get confused. There is no such thing as a "take-off posi". "Take off" comes from the fact that the Zexel Torsen Limited Slip carries are "taken off" of Trans Ams and Z-28's during the Firehawk and SS conversions by SLP. It simply means that these are USED carriers. They call them Torsens for "Torque Sensing". They are unlike the previous Auburn units for they have no clutches in them.

I figured you did, hence the first line of my reply. I just didn't want people to try and read to deep into the post and think that a "take-off posi" was a brand name or certain style.

And yes, they are much cheaper then new, that is why I bought one for my car
