front bearing retainer on t-5

hey guys if i take off the front bearing retainer on mt t-5 should i watchh out for any surprises or is it all simple. i thing it is leakin tranny fluid out of it an i'd like to fix it. is ther a seal or just silicon? thanks

There's a seal inside it, but no gasket, just silicone between it and the case.

Juat make sure the clutch gear stays in it, chasing those roller bearings around after they fall into the case is no fun.

clutch gear??? are u referring to the splined shaft that the clutch disk slides on?? also do u mean there is a seal and there is also silicon ?? thanks

Right, that "splined shaft" has a name, which is "clutch gear".

There's a seal pressed into the clutch gear bearing retainer bore, that seals around the clutch gear. You use silicone between the bearing retainer and the case, and on the bolt threads.
