What kinda Torque Converters are u 305 TPI people using.

Ive been looking into getting a new torque converter for some time now and I would like to know what kind u 305 TPI guys are using. I was gonna get a Corvette Converter but the deal fell through. I also was looking at the B&M 2400RPM stall. Would that one be any good. Whats a good Stall Converter for a 305 TPI. Any info would be appriciated.

Thanks alot.

Depending on what you want to spend, I would avoid the B&M due to poor construction and a "high" comeback ratio. Use Continental, Precision Industries, A.C.T., Yank, etc. Anything higher than 2,200 rpm stall on a stock diameter torque converter can get very slippery. The Corvette torque converter would be a better choice. Don't cut corners when buying a torque converter.

I'm debating this same thing. At this point I'm thinking either the GM #24202310 ( 93-95 S-10, also known as "L-35" converter), or A.C.T. 9.5 2400 stall. The A.C.T unit , unfortunately cost more than double the GM piece, not sure if it will offer twice the bang. I've also seen a GM Corvette converter #24202174 , not sure how it differs from the "L-35" converter, but I believe it has the same stall, 2100-2200. Opinions?

I had TCI break away converter few years ago at my -85 tpi z-28.I like that converter stallspeed(approx.2400 rpm).Works good ,only minus was that it wasn't lock-up type converter. Now i'm running with TCI saturday night special converter.Works good, but stallspeed is little low(approx.1800 rpm).i liked more that 2400 stall.
