I got my new 88 this weekend. Ok here is the problem in my 88 s-10 I have B&M Mega shifter. So with the weather was so nice I clean up the pontiac for test ride. I took it out on the road in front of the house to go through the gears "700r4" I put in low locked her up got smoke rolling. Let her go got up around 5,000rpm & slapped the gear shifter into 2nd BUT it went in to the Big "N" ouch. I need to know if their is a kit to make the stock shifter like the B&M Mega shifter or do I need to get a new shifter that will fit were my stock one is? Please help!!

 

did it actually move to N or just feel like it? my guess is the trans was slipping, or not engageing, however you want to say it.

 

in the S-10 the is a ratchet type so ican hit from 1 to 2, 2 to D it's 350 tranny, But in the bird if I hit the shifter to hard it miss 2 goes straight to "N". So I guess what I'm asking is there a kit to make the stock shifter like the mega shifter? If not what is a good shifter to relpace the stock one with no changes to the console
