Shift in burnout?
Shift in burnout?
I was just thinking, has anyone ever seen a manual car shift (as 1st to 2nd+) in a burnout. I think that would be really impresive. Just wondering, and if ya have a pic or vid that would be awsome

Why don't you check the movies section of this site?
Bill Kirsch's 350TPI 5 speed aka "Snot Rocket"
https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/m...BurnoutLow.avi
He stated years ago in a thread that he shifted into 2nd gear to achieve that one.

He he.
I used to have a 83' LG4 with 3.73 gears on it and a T-5 with a strong clutch. It had a cam, open element, and the cat was removed and in place was a straight pipe.
I could get to the top of 3rd gear in a burnout not using the brakes. I would go back and check the marks and they were so funny. There would be the 1st gear one at like 25 feet long, then a 3 foot blank spot, then 2nd gear mark 40 footer followed by another 3 foot blank spot from the shift and then 3rd gear at like 20 feet.
The thing looked so funny! Like 3 separate burnouts!

i can spin the tires through 4 gears easily....but not sitting still....
the lift bars plant the tires so hard the car just wants to GO....its damn tough to do that with any car though if you have a regular manual trans.....unless you have a linelock

Before I fried my tranny I could do 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. The best thing though is when you start from a stop, don't spin at all thru 1st, and hit 2nd/3rd and smoke 'em up!

The picture on my website was taken while in 2nd gear. Was debating on 3rd, but didnt.
I did have the front wheel blocked though, so it tends to help.

And people complain about T-5's not lasting
Those vids are kind of cool, but doing that is a sure way to break parts.

Hmmmm
With a No2 micro switch on each gear, with a safety , not till the clutch is release activator. I bet someone could get all 6 gears of a T56?

I could burn though 2nd brake standing my 81. I'll burn though 3rd the bike (HD 1200) but a friend cracked the case on his 1200 doing one right beside me so I don't do that on the bike any more. Was funny as h3ll, we ribbed him all day, "More oil under your bike then normal man."

ive done it up till the top of 3rd gear on my motorcycle.... i had a new rear tire and had to say farewell to the old one.... hehehe
as for doing it at the track or somthing, i doubt its really needed.... it just sounds like a good way to break stuff when you're trying to showoff...
