Ok how do I make a car with cable speedo work with computer speedo?
I just purchased a 700r4 from a 1992 camaro. Well my 1988 has a cable driven speedo. How do I make this work. This tranny also has 3.42 gears in the tranny which is gonna make my speedo way off but if I dont figure out how to make an electronic signal into a mechanical it isnt gonna matter.
The guy I bought it from put the gears in it to keep his speedo right. Im assuming he had 3.42 gears. I have 2.73s but I plan on getting 3.42s anyways.
How am I gonna hook my speedo up? I have the other tranny with cable driven if that matter...any way to switch it back over or anything like that?
I got a good deal on this tranny with 49k and it has the speedo gears already installed and a trans-go shift kit.

Can't you just swap the tailstocks between the two trannies? I thought that was where the speedo assembly was housed.

I remember doing that to my wifes old firebird when her tranny took a crap. I got a tranny from a camaro, and swapped the tail stocks, and everything was good. Good luck!!
