Muncie 4 Speed

Does anyone here run a Muncie in either a thirdgen or any other vehicle that they own? If so, have you replaced the brass synchro rings, and where did you find them?

We've tried to get them through GM before, and they said that there were only 7 of them left in the country, according to their computers. Mr. Gasket made them in sets of 4, but they've discontinued them. Neither Jegs nor Summit carries any, Mr. Gasket or otherwise. There's a company in North Carolina that deals with Nova parts, and they do have them. I was just trying to find them from another (cheaper) source.

Muncie syncros

I rebuilt a Muncie a few years ago with a kit from Mid America Designs. www.madvet.com. It was a very complete kit for $190.

You need to know whether it is a M20,M21,or M22 as there are a few parts that are different. I think their printed catalog has a page devoted to identifiying the Muncie. They do have an 800#,too.
