Broken filler tube.

I finally had some decent weather today, so i got the trans am up on ramps to change the transmission filter. I got back up under there and found the stupid transmission filler tube to be broken. It was getting dark so i really didnt get a good look at it but i was just wondering where exactly it hooks up to the transmission at and if it is very hard to replace. knowing these things would help alot cause theres not musch space up under there to do anything. I am kinda worried that all the times i put fluid in it it was just going on the ground I guess that could be the reason it wont go into any gear but reverse . Hopefully i havent put any damage on it,I havent driven it that much so im hoping it will be ok. Also i was wondering where i could pick it up, Advance or napa maybe?

700-r4 dipstick

I'd get one from a salvage yard. It doesn't have to be from a
Camaro or Firebird as long as it is for a 700-r4 and is the right length. One for a BOP or Cadillac tranny won't have the mounting
bracket in the right place to work with a 700-r4. Your original
dipstick should stick out the end of the tube about the diameter
of a Quarter .
