What brand are the factory posi units that came on the 92 camaros? What about the newer GM camaros and other vehicles? Thanks

Thirdgen posi's were Auburn Cone style limited slip differentials. 4th gens used Zexel Torsen limited slip.

Is there an advantage to one or the other?Originally posted by GMTech

A torsen is more stable cornering and I think is rebuildable but is more expensive. The Auburn cone type is cheaper but not rebuildable but lock right away even turning. I don't know if it was stock but when I put gear in my buddies 95 Z-28 it had an Auburn in it. We put a torsen from an S-10 SS with 4.10's (the auburn ratched bad) and he doesn't like the torsen because it won't do posi doughnuts because I think you have to go straight before it locks up.
hmmm, I hear good things about eaton, I think i'm gonna go with an eaton posi unless someone on here can convince me not to. Anyone have any experience with an eaton posi?

I have an Eaton posi in my 69 Camaro with a 12 bolt and 3.73s.
On a 150 shot and a 475 horse 383 I spray out of the hole and my best 60 foot is a 1.55 and I've had no problems. I didn't know that you could get an Eaton for a 10 bolt. If you can I would.
