Do I need to buy a torque wrench?

I am in the middle of swapping a not broken t5 into my car and was wondering If I needed to worry about torquing the bolts (for the flywheel and pressure plate) or can I just screw 'em down with an impact and roll with it?

It's a very usefull tool and can come in handy in the future. Id reccomend getting one even though its not needed for a clutch its better to use one then not. Autozone sells decent one with a liftime warrenty for $25 and they are accurate and made by Great Neck who uses Craftsmen's old design patterns so we can draw some conclusions from that.

Don't put a clutch on with air... use hand tools. Tighten the bolts around the clutch progressively so that the clutch doesn't get bent. They're 3/8"-16, so 35 ft-lbs or so (a pretty good arm with a 9/16"-5/8" box wrench, but not murdering them or anything) is about right.

Flywheel bolts should go to about 65-70 ft-lbs. If you know what your impact produces, it's OK to use it for those.

Yea, don't use an impact wrench... my friend just discovered that his flexplate in his '67 Mustang was put on with an impact wrench (old owner, what are ya gonna do? ) And from what i have heard, he still hasn't gotten it off.

Well thank you all for your help. I think it is time to invest in a torque wrench.
