Question on BW 9 Bolt?

I have a BW 9bolt with 3.27 gears and wanted to know if it Will hold up very long running mid to high 11s in the 1/4 with Nitto street slicks, and a 3500 stall? Or what can I do to make it stronger? Thanks for the help guys.

You might want to start checking on prices for a 10 bolt just in case. If you go to the track a lot, time is not on your side.

I go to the track about 5 times a year, but this is the first year with the heads, cam, and stall so I might go a couple more times, is this to the point of to much stress on it? If so how much could I sell the 9 bolt for? it has 3.27gears and good Posi.

Um, if he wants to reliably run in the elevens, the 10 bolt really isnt an option. Do you mean 12 bolt?

Yeah, a 12 bolt would be much better but I think a 10 bolt would hold up depending on how much he goes to the track. One or two times a year wouldn't justify the cost of a 12bolt, IMO. You may bust the 10 bolt at some time. Once that happens, buy the 12 bolt.

why would he want to go backwards on reliability, the 9 bolt is leaps and bounds stronger than a 10 bolt any day. if you really want the best get a 9" built for a third gen. pricey but hard to hurt with any motor.

Definately stay with the 9 bolt. The axles are beefier and they bolt in. The 10 bolt IMO would be a step backward.

By the way I just replaced the posi unit in my 3.27 geared 9 bolt and it is good again.

I for one am very impressed with my 9 bolt, it has seen many 3500-4000rpm launches on drag radials and never even made noise. The posi unit finally let go with about 130000 hard miles on it. And about the last 20k was behind a 5speed. I am just going to put a used posi in it and go for it again. It'll hold up, I think if I start hooking real hard with mine it will probably break, but miles has had his behind a BB for quite some time.
