ok well i put in the shifter, i used to be able to fight with it to get it to go into drive and below, but then it would get stuck, and id have to fight with it for 20 minutes to let me put it into park, now i cant even get it to go past overdrive, also my whole console lifts up if i go past drive, anyone know what i could have done wrong? i set it up like the manual says, bah.

I don't know on yours, but I had a B&M Sport Shifter in a g-body and the lever at the trans. could only be setup to give me P through 2 or R through 1. If you have had at one time, had full P - 1 travel, then this may not apply. I could not mount it on the trans (200-4R) so as to clear the pan and all to get the job done
