T-5 Qusetions

Ok so here is the deal, I have a world class trannie ( basically a t-5) and it works great, but when I power shift into 2nd real hard, like when I am power shifting , or something like that I get feed back from the syncronisers,. A friend of mine suggested that I use Syncro mesh from G.M. . I called G.M. and they diddnt know if it would work , so I am asking you all If you have any ideas, or suggestions , all I want is to help the 2nd gear syncro out, Im on my sixth trannie( there is a reason gm never put a t-5 behind a 350, let alone a built one) and Im just trying not to replace it agian, I have ams oil in it right now , and the factory calls for atf , so no 80w/90 wont work in it either, again any help you can give would be greatly apreciated. If you want to know whats been done to my car, you know how to find it, I even included pics with it, enjoy.

What do you mean by "feed back" from the synchros?

You don't really mean "power shifting" do you? Because that is when you shift without using the clutch and that clearly would not be good for many of the parts inside the tranny.

Not sure exactly what your asking. If your looking to full-power-no-lift shifts, read on.
A T-5 is sycro meshed....GM must have not understood your question.
A synchronized transmission is not desgned for that type of use (too slow). You need straight cut gears with under cut dog rings, to do what your doing. Get away from sycros in a T-5 for clucthless shifts. Talk to G-Force transmissions ((717) 867-4352). Hope this helps you.

ok, so mabe I wasens spacific enough, ( my bad) , so if im heavy in the throttle and dont take my foot off the throttle, slap the clutch and grab 2nd ( real fast) I get feed back, ( really minor grinding) it will go into 2nd , but clearly the trannie isnt happy about it. as far as "syncro mesh" goes its a transmission fluid manufactured and sold byG.M., I have heard good things about it , but when I called and asked G.M. if it was compatible with my trannie, they diddnt know, If you all have any more questions, or need me to clarify any more feel free to ask, agian thanks for the help.

Synchro mesh isn't a trans fluid, you should be running ATF in your T5. I have had grinding going into 2nd on fast shifts and my remedy is to not do that, T5s are known to be junk

As far as the grinding goes, its sounds like you may need a rebuild. You might be lucky enough to get away with a set of blocking rings.

If you have a World Class T5 the synchro linings are a fibre similar to an automatic clutch or band material. You do not want to use GM Synchromesh in this trans., as it is still partially a gear-oil fluid. Gear oils swell the fibre type synchros and make the trans. require a rebuild.

A friend and I did a differential in a 94 Z28; trans. was noisy as hell. A coworker of his told him to put 80/90 in it to quiet it down. That one needed rebuilt

When all these synchro-less transmission suggestions are taken to heart and people go to drive them on the street, they'll really have faith

G-Force isn't the only one who can pro-shift a T5; Liberty does as well I believe.

Umm... Correction... G-Force is not considered PRO-SHIFT. Its a FACE-TOOTH design. Jerico uses a DOG-RING set-up, like motorcycles. I didnt mean the above mentioned statement the way that you took it. It was someone on a thread I started earlier that made mention on the possibility of G-Force trying to scam us T-5'ers into buying their transmissions or tranny kits. Thats all.
