tranny build up idea, need advice...
Well, Im getting ready to rebuild the 700r4 in my camaro and a friend of mine, who also has a camaro, gave me some tips. Just wanted to see if it was really worth the extra money... He said I should put 2 extra 3-4 clutch packs in because there is enough room for it, a mild shift kit, a corvette servo, and have holes drilled into the valvebody. Im pretty knew to the scene so I have no clue what any of this means. Any help on the benefits and drawbacks of this setup would be great.

I do not know about the fitting 2 3/4 clutch packs in, but I do suggest if your going to do a rebuild, a 3/4 clutch pack is most important for a 700r4, and i would recommend the raybestos with kodeline coated frictions.
It's Kolene steels. On the street, we have found the Raybestos Blue Plate Specials do not hold up well. At the track, they due alright. I use Borg Warner Hi-Energy 2-4 bands & 3-4 clutches, in all my builds with great success. They are about 1/3 the price of the BPS's. With the right combination of thin .060 & thick .080 steels, and pressure plates, you can get 7 or 8 .080 BW Hi-E 3-4 clutches in the drum. If you have any questions, let me know?
