car IDLES differently in D, than it does in 1, 2, or OD?

I noticed that if I have the car in gear with my foot on the brake, it idles DIFFERENTLY in Drive than it does in the other gears?! It's like the car sounds/feels SLIGHTY different, maybe like a 'higher pitched' idle (the RPMs stay EXACTLY the same though). 1st is normal, 2nd is normal, 3rd is a little different, 4th is normal?! Does this make sense?

-Thanks

Sorry, but it does NOT make sense to me! The input shaft turns the same speed (0 RPM's) if you're stopped, and idling.

I've thought about this on ea little bit, and still haven't come up with anything definite. The only thing I can come up with is it may idle slightly lower (Although I odn't really think it would be noticable) in second, first, and reverse due to the fact that the line pressure is a little bit higher in those gear, therefore creating a SLIGHTLY increased load on the engine. Either you have a REALLY good ear/feel, or your engine is really sensitive to load at idle.
