T5 to TH350 swap
Just wondering what all is involved with switching from a T5 to a TH350 or TH400 since I'll most likely be destoying my T5 with the my new motor.
Thanks

not much except changing out the flywheel, getting your drive shaft length right and getting the anti torque bar fastened to the new tranny. if you go with a th400 you'll have to cut the tranny well.
BTW how much for your T-5 with shifter plate and clutch pedal?

Well....I am looking for a T-5 to put the g-force kit into...And my car has a built T-350 now....Anyone wanna sell me a Trans and everything for a manual swap....Or Trade for a built T-350????
just finished doing this very swap, you will need the tranny of course,the flexplate,torque converter,torque arm mount kit from jegs or summit.
depending on which length tail shaft you use you will need the following;
short tail: 3 inch longer drive shaft,longer torque arm,tranny mount that bolt to the forward most 2 holes in the frame.
a drive shaft from an early model car with a th200 will fit both length wise and spline wise as will the crossmember and torque arm.
long tail: the manual components should be able to be reused and all you should need is the torque arm kit mentioned above.
something I forgot about until the last thing is the tranny cooling lines, since your car was a manual it will not have the cooling fittings in the radiator so you will have to come up with something for that. I used rubber hose rated for tranny use for the lines (easier than steel) and insted of buying a new radiator or tranny cooler I reused the A/C condensor (after cleaning it out good). you will also need provisions for the kick-down cable for the carb/TB mount.
