you can install a shift kit without doing a rebuild, or you can do a rebuild without installing a shift kit, or you can do both at the same time.

but if i do the shift kit install would it be like doing a rebuild?

for instance instead of getting it rebuilt and i have the shift kit installed would it be the same as rebuilding it except for the different shiftpoints etc..

so would it be pointless to get it rebuilt then get the shift kit installed? or is necessary to have the tranny rebuilt then get the shift kit.? b/c my tranny does need to get rebuilt.

first off, a tansgo kit does not take the place of a tranny rebuild.

Is your tranny having problems?

If it is fine, then just get the transgo kit istalled for better shifts.

If the tranny is slipping or having other problems, Have it fixed first. There is no since in putting in the trango kit into a slipping tranny.

hope this helps.

If the transmission needs rebuilding, get it rebuilt and add the shift kit at the same time. It will already be apart & clean-easier to work with. Are you doing the work yourself?
The shift kit won't replace a rebuild, but some of the components are replaced with the shift kit-*****,plates, springs, gasket.

No problem. Anytime.

Just get the trans in good working order. It will make a big difference. You might talk to the shop doing the rebuild and have them install the trango kit at the same time. They should be happy to do it for you. Might want to think about a stall converter swap also. If you can afford it. Tranny rebuilds can run into some good money.

good luck
