Vette Servo...DIY?

Can i do it myself? i have instructions with the new servo i just got in the mail. It comes with 2 alum parts, 3 rubber bands, one little band, and what looks like a gasket. do i need anything else? #1 can i do it?
#2 can it be done while in the car?
#3 will i lose my mind getting the old one out?
#4 could i cause damage to the tranny?
#5 anything else i should look out for?

1: YES
2: YES
3: Possible You just need to drop the tranny down a little so you can get the old one out.
4: Like anything, if it's not done right it's not going to work.
5: Just make sure you get the cover all the way back on. The clamp ring is a PITA to get off and on. Make sure you push the pin all the way in.

see, the thing is.. im gunna replace this tranny within a year or 2... and im fixin it up... hehehe maybe ill part it out when its time!!

It's still worth it. It only takes about an hour or 2 to put in.

No special tools required. The only tools I used were a screwdriver and a prybar.

i had to use vice grips on the outter cover to get it off....also had to unbolt the rear tranny mount and use my leg to push over the tranny while pulling it out and putting it in.....definatly not hard though best hour ive spent working on my car!

It was a pretty easy job, just did mine last week while getting rained on. I managed to get by with loosening the tranny crossmember bolts and not actually taking them out to get enough clearance.
