1le aluminum driveshaft

Is it possible to buy a 1LE aluminum driveshaft as an after market produce. I was told you could, and if this is correct who would sell this type of driveshaft and how much would it cost.

If not what would be a good aluminum driveshaft my 89 iroc, and how much would it cost.

Thanks

If I understand your question, yes you can buy a 1LE Dr shaft new.
It is GM p/n 10085375 and GMpartsdirect sells them for $249.
Some other suppliers sell Aluminum Shafts also but for a lot more money.

check out www.dennysdriveshaft.com

He is a local guy for me, however, he ships all over the world.

Great product, top notch. He quoted me a price for an aluminum shaft of $310 good to 700HP. The Steel version $280. The steel ones are gaurenteed never to twist or break.

Do a search for the LS1 4th gen drive shaft. It fits our cars and IIRC it's cheaper/beefier than the 1LE driveshaft.

I'm pretty sure 1LE and LS1s with 3.23s got an aluminum driveshaft.

Any year 4Th Gen Aluminum Dr Shaft will fit on all 3rd Gen cars both for a Auto & Manual. Size for 1LE is 2 3/4" and 4th is 3" in diameter. The 1Le is lighter of the two. Only advantage is lighter weight and possible elimination of driveline vibrations at speed.

This is as much as I know so far. I'll keep searching and update as I find more info.

Z28DJP1987:
Folowing are the Dr shaft diameters (OD):
Code:
DS Material	Size Part # Price
----- ------- ----- ------- -----
Stock steel 2 1/2"
1LE Alum 2 3/4" 10085375	219.83
LS1 Alum 3" 12564003	239.00
LPE Alum 3 1/2" 299.00

formul8!!:
The steel weighed 15.5lbs and the aluminum weighed 12.5lbs.(1LE)

The P/N is 12564003 for the LS1 Aluminum Dr Shaft. And I belive its $20 cheaper then 1LE, but don't quote me. These shaft appear on e-bay all the time, but don't bid over $150 for them.
Got mine their for $110 because the seller didn't know what he had.

Thanks a lot for all the information and help that everybody has give. The thing was that I posted this thread a couple of days ago, and when I found out the 1LE part number I ordered it. This morning the 1LE drive shaft was delivered, and then I start getting all this information on the 1LS driveshaft. The thought I had made a mistake. However, the 1LE driveshaft is cheaper than the LS1 and for my application it will work great. However, on ebay there are two 1LS drive shafts being bidded on one is for $120 with 1 day left. The other is for $51 dollars with 3 day left. This is if anybody is interested.

No it will not. The 350 is shorter overall. A stock 200C driveshaft will fit though.
