How many Litres does a 700R4 transmission hold?
No quarts, pints or any of that stuff.

Litres only please.

Also--I am having my transmssion rebuilt--should I use synthtec oil? Benefits?

thanks

1 quart = 0.946 liters (thats marked on my quarts)

I need to know how much a transmission holds also.
I would like to know how much it holds total and how much I'd have to add after a filter change.

I've added 6 quarts after changing the filter and gasket. There are no apparent leaks and it isn't puddling on the floor.

If I wasn't in a hurry and let the tranny drain for a couple of days would I need more fluid? NAPA sold me 5 quarts and said that would fill it up.

thanks...

now back to searching.....

By searching for "tranny and quarts" I found this:

>If all you're doing is taking a running trans and dropping the >pan, it's around 4-5 quarts.

>If you had a brand-new trans and converter, it would take >around 11 quarts.

>Do your work; add about 2 quarts; start the motor and add >about 2 more; check and top off.

No wonder search doesn't work for me. I don't use enough slang!
