tranny rebuild question

Hey guys, I have a TH-350 that is in need of a high performance rebuild, I need help deciding which way to go, either get a good race rebuild kit and do it my self or pay the extra $$$$'s and get one already done. I want one that is race ready and has a manual valve body.

can someone give me some ideas on what I should do, or buy. I am looking for quality as well as economy.

If you haven't rebuilt a transmission before I wouldn't even try to build a race tranny. I would leave it up to a professional who has plenty of experience with it. Of course if it were me I'd probably do it anyways, but it would probably end up at a transmission shop when I screw something up or have parts left over...

TH350 Rebuild

Get a copy of Ron Sessions' Turbo Hydra-matic 350 Handbook
and check out www.bulkpart.com. TH350's are not hard to
rebuild, but some tranny-specific tools are needed. Your local tranny shop can also do part of the labor for a fee if you don't
have access to the proper tools. Check out www.express-tool.com
to see what the tools called for look like.
